How do I get ready for the pre-order?
From October 12 until late October 15, the Apple Store lets you pick your color, storage, carrier, accessories, AppleCare+, shipping and payment, and even run the credit check in advance. Around launch, the online store goes down briefly and usually reopens a few minutes late, so it helps to have both the website and the Apple Store app open.
Should I try it in a store first?
It's an entirely new iPhone design, so seeing it in person first is reasonable. Online shipping dates are expected to slip quickly, but stores will have their own stock starting October 23.
